Duane L. Rose

Duane Rose was born in Sioux City, Iowa, July 11, 1948. He died at home in Long Beach, California on October 23, 2022. He was the owner of Gerard’s Florist. Duane used his talents in floral design for many events in Long Beach and surrounding areas. He was a long standing member of the California State Floral Association, St. Mary’s Medical Association and Musical Theater West. Duane had named charities in his will: American Cancer Society, Braille Institute, Los Angeles, California and Musical Theater West, Long Beach, California.

Duane and Gary Smith purchased a Bixby home in 1995. Duane is now joined with parents, Gerald and Gloria Rose, brothers Keith and Douglas Rose, and partner Gary Smith. Service will be with McKenzia Mortuary, Long Beach, CA. November 29, 2022, 11:00 am. The Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Long Beach, CA. Serving Family: twin brother Dennis Rose, brother Russell Rose and sister Patrica and husband Larry Fritz. In lieu of flowers, donation can go to Duane’s charities.
