Karyl S. Crosthwait

Karyl S. Crosthwait, born March 13, 1932, went to her forever home on August 3, 2023. Karyl was born in Paterson, New Jersey, attending Ridgewood High School. She graduated with a BA in 1955 from St. Lawrence University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, making lifelong friendships. She married her college boyfriend, John E. Crosthwait of Meriden, Connecticut in 1955. The family made homes throughout the United States, ending up in Southern California. Karyl died surrounded by loving care in her home of many years in Long Beach, California.

Karyl was deeply involved with her friends and church community. Through her strong faith and fellowship, she was known for her acts of kindness and charity through visits, preparing meals, praying, and serving others. She will be remembered for her daily writing and devotionals, handwritten letters to others, her love of God, and her many hand-drawn red hearts. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Crosthwait of Lake Oswego, Oregon.
