Penny Lightfoot

Penny was born in Bakersfield and later married Tim, making their home in Long Beach. If you met Penny, you loved her—her kindness, easygoing nature, and willingness to help neighbors. She shared unconditional love for Angela and Timmy, she was always there for everything, whether watching from the stands or coaching from the sidelines.

She and her sister, Emma Lee, could talk for hours, sharing stories of their grandchildren and children, times together, texting pictures and notes, exchanging medical advice, sharing secrets and swearing not to repeat them. They loved traveling together;  Florida weddings, College Station for Volleyball and Charleston for Margaritas. She could always count on her sister!

To her granddaughter Taylor, she was Mimi. They spent countless hours together, finding wonderful activities and things to share. Taylor could get Penny to do anything! Favorites were; San Diego, making her Snowball Cookies and countless trips around the duck pond. They loved each other so much!. 

She loved talking politics or the state of the world with her son in law Jeff. If she had a side to take it was always his.

Living closest to son Tim, he kept her on her toes. He always left her shaking her head, smiling and laughing to herself about his creative ways.

For Angela, Penny was a great mom, supporter, coach, advice giver and so forgiving.

She spent many years caring for little one, cousins and friends, she still talked about them everyday.

Penny was a cancer survivor, she could face challenges with grace, resilient, and always put her faith in God. She knew he always had a plan.  

Penny did not want a formal service. Instead, she wished for you to share a comment or story about your time with her. She deeply valued every moment spent with each of you over the years. 

We love her and miss her so much!
